Early Intervention Program – Ek Prayas
Ek Prayas is SANKALPA’s flagship Early Intervention Program, supported by IDFC FIRST Bank. It provides comprehensive developmental and educational support to children with developmental disabilities across Davangere District, Harapanahalli and Hoovin Hadagali Taluks of Vijayanagar District, and Ranebennur in Haveri District, Karnataka.

Program overview
Ek Prayas, supported by IDFC FIRST Bank, is SANKALPA's flagship Early Intervention Program, providing comprehensive developmental and educational support to children with developmental disabilities across Davangere District, Harapanahalli and Hoovin Hadagali Taluks of Vijayanagar District, and Ranebennur in Haveri District, Karnataka.
Through a block-saturation model, we work in close partnership with families, schools, Anganwadi Centers, community volunteers, and government departments to ensure early identification, timely intervention, and continuous support. The program currently reaches 480 children: 290 through Ek Prayas and 190 through other SANKALPA programs. Services are delivered through a combination of center-based and community-based support, including developmental assessments, individualized education, speech and language support, physiotherapy, parent capacity building, home-based intervention, and school inclusion support.
By strengthening local systems and empowering families, Ek Prayas is creating sustainable pathways for children with developmental disabilities to learn, grow, and participate fully in their communities.
