ABOUT US
SANKALPA is a registered non-profit organization operating out of Davangere district of Karnataka, India. Ever since its inception in 2007, the organization has been making major strides in realizing its goals by providing inclusive educational opportunities for children with Developmental Disabilities.
The organization primarily focuses on providing care and facilities for children affected by Intellectual Disability, Global Developmental Delay and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Additionally, SANKALPA also caters to children who have been unfortunately inflicted with speech and hearing impediments.

Day-care Centre
Our day care program is oriented towards addressing mainstream education challenges that children with Developmental Disabilities such as those afflicted with Delayed Development, Intellectual Autism, Specific Learning Disability face on a day-to-day basis. We lay special emphasis on the age-group of children between 3 – 14 years.
Our aim is to empower the children of this age-group by improving their functional literacy, self-care, communication skills and social skills. It brings us immense pleasure to note that the hard work of these children and our dedicated members has ensured that the program has witnessed an improvement of 70%, which has also led to a high rate of retention.
Rehabilitation Services
Our rehabilitation services are catered towards the various needs of a child with Developmental Disabilities and includes comprehensive therapy, assistive and adaptive devices, medical and surgical intervention, collaboration with nutrition rehabilitation centres, speech and hearing aids etc. We have also embarked on the formulation of multi-sectoral approach that we refer to as Community Based Rehabiliation, which involves participation from families, schools, other organisations that are involved in the provision of health and vocational services, social services and lastly, the community at large.
SANKALPA makes a conscious effort to work towards the overall development of children who belong to rural and urban areas by implementing programs and undertaking initiatives that zeros in on a child’s holistic and overall development.
